FAQs

Sweet Peek Studio offers the latest in 3D/4D ultrasound technology giving you live, real detailed images of your sweet little one. It is unlike the ones that are performed in your doctor’s office with black and white static, although those are definitely necessary to perform the appropriate diagnosis and to check for abnormalities/anomalies, etc. We want to provide you with a different, comfortable experience and show you your baby in the womb in another dimension like no other that will hopefully show you more features than you would get to see otherwise to create a long lasting bond and memory.

Drinking lots of water is so important prior to coming in for your ultrasound, start at least 5 days beforehand. Please drink as much as possible if you are hoping for the best images. This not only hydrates you and your baby but also makes the amniotic fluid clear. Please bring a sugary drink or snack in case we need to get the baby moving!! We can’t always ensure how the baby is positioned, but we will do our very best to get the images you are hoping for!

***If you have not been good about drinking the recommended 64 ounces of fluid daily, please start now and schedule your appointment 5-7 days from now. This is the most helpful thing you can do to increase the quality of your baby’s images.

2D is the type of ultrasound you receive in your doctor’s office that gives you a low quality, black and white static view of your baby. 3D/4D equipment creates another dimension from sound waves that shows you more detail and features of the baby’s face and body. Live HD is a video of your baby moving in the womb.

You can have a 3D/4D ultrasound any time. If you are hoping to see the gender then waiting at least 16 weeks is ideal, however waiting a little longer around 26 weeks you will also get to see more of your baby and more details of his/her face. Babies develop more fat and definition the further you are along. If you want guaranteed quality pictures its best to get the scan before 32 weeks while there is still more amniotic fluid. We have been successful later then that, it just can be harder to get certain images since the baby is much bigger with little space and could already be face down.

No, most certainly not. You must already be in the care of and receiving treatment with a healthcare provider for prenatal care. It is best you have already been seen and all of the necessary diagnostic ultrasounds, screens, etc have been performed. Sweet Peek Studio does not perform a diagnostic scan, our scans are elective. We do perform gender reveals and can create a fun, exciting experience for you during that scan. Please give us a call to request more information.

Sweet Peek Studio strictly adheres to FDA standards. There have been extensive studies performed over decades that ultrasounds do not cause any harm to the mother or her baby. Routine scanning is very common and performed regularly. There is not any difference between a 2D and a 3D/4D live ultrasound and the exposure. The same type of sound waves enter the body (similar to radar) and return an echo that generates the image.

We use the state of the art, brand new Mindray DC70 equipment to capture the best views and images of your little one in the womb.

No, this is an elective scan and is not to be replaced by the ultrasounds ordered by your healthcare provider. Our packages are paid at your own expense.

No, we do not contact or notify your doctor at any time of the ultrasound because this is an elective procedure unless we see something of concern. Sonographers cannot make any diagnosis and why we require that you are under prenatal care of a doctor. If you have any questions regarding the ultrasound, you should discuss with your doctor.

Our main goal and priority is to ensure we get those perfect pictures and videos you are hoping for, however, there are things that are beyond our control. It all depends on the position of your baby and whether he/she is face down, facing the mother’s spine or against the placenta. Each ultrasound is different, and it depends on the gestational age, position, and amount of amniotic fluid and mother’s condition. We will do our very best to capture the best images possible. We aim for satisfied mamas!

We understand that sometimes baby might not be in position for optimal imaging. For all packages that apply, we will offer one complimentary re-scan in the event that we can’t determine the gender at 18+ weeks or are unable to get a clear partial face image of your baby. All re-scans must be booked Monday-Friday between 10am-4pm.

Please keep in mind our sonographer will need access to your belly in the process of imaging, but please wear what makes you the most comfortable.
